一定要在下面评论,让我知道。

But the important thing to remember about any language whether that&39;s not all about grammar.

但是对于任何语言,不管是英语、法语、西班牙语、德语,不管是什么语言,重要的是要记住,它们不仅仅是语法问题。

It's not just about the structures, learning lots of vocabulary, and perfecting your pronunciation.

不仅仅是关于结构,学习大量的词汇,完善你的发音。

Immersing yourself in a language becoming native and fluent means understanding the language in a cultural context.

Right,number one: nothing ventured,nothing gained.

第一:不入虎穴,焉得虎子。

Nothing ventured,nothing gained.

不入虎穴,焉得虎子。

Now think of venture coming from the word &34; and you might start to understand this proverb.

想想 venture 这个词来自于单词 adventure(冒险),你可能会开始理解这句谚语。

浅谈英语谚语的翻译论文,Essentially if you don&39;t know if you can achieve it or benefit from it.

本质上,如果你不尝试做某事,你就不知道你是否能实现或从中受益。

英语谚语翻译论文

As an example,&39;t know whether I should bother applying for that job. I don&34; &34; Number two: out of the frying pan and into the fire.

举个例子,“我真的不知道我是否应该费心去申请那份工作。我觉得我经验不够。”“加油!不入虎穴,焉得虎子。你只能尽力而为。”第二:逃脱小难,更遭大难;每况愈下。

Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

逃脱小难,更遭大难。

This is a particularly... I think more advanced and you might find it a bit of a challenge to use.

这是一个特别……我认为更高级的表达,你可能会发现使用起来有点挑战。

But keep going, bear with me and see if you're able to understand this.

但是继续努力,忍一下,看看你能不能理解。

Out of the frying pan and into the fire essentially means going from one problem to another.

从煎锅里出来,到火里,意味着从一个问题到另一个问题。

And in fact, the problem, the next problem that you go to is usually bigger worse than the original.

而事实上,这个问题,你面对的下一个问题通常比原来的更大更糟。

Basically,by your own effort, you've gone from one bad situation to another but the other is much worse.

基本上,你通过自己的努力,已经从一个糟糕的情况出来,但却进入到另一个更糟糕的情况中。

Now an example of this could be relationships.

这方面的一个例子是人际关系。

You might have a boyfriend or a girlfriend who you're not very happy with,so you break up with them.

你可能有一个不太满意的男朋友或女朋友,所以你和他们分手了。

And then you start a new relationship except this relationship is actually not very nice.

然后你开始了一段新的感情,但是这段感情其实不太好。

Maybe the person doesn't treat you very well or is never around.

可能那个人对你不太好或者从来不陪在身边。

But basically, the relationship you find yourself in is even worse than the one you had previously and ended.

你发现自己所处的关系甚至比你之前已经结束的关系还要糟糕。

So someone might say to you,&34;.

所以有人可能会对你说,“逃脱小难,更遭大难”。

Or it could even be in a work situation.

或者甚至可能用在工作场合。

Maybe you&39;t happy there and you go to find another job.

也许你已经辞职了,你在那里不开心,你去找另一份工作。

You start that job and you find actually this job is much worse.

你开始新的工作,你发现实际上这份工作更糟糕。

Your boss is much more bossy.

你的老板更专横。

Your colleagues are really lazy.

你的同事真的很懒。

And you're really really not happy in this new job.

你对这份新工作真的很不满意。

Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

逃脱小难,更遭大难。

So you have made a choice to make a bad situation even worse.

你选择了让糟糕的情况变得更糟。

Number three: don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

第三:好心当成驴肝肺。

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

好心当成驴肝肺。

Sounds weird.

听起来很奇怪。

Yes,these next two are particularly strange because they're related to horses and it sounds a little bit odd.

接下来的这两个谚语特别奇怪,因为它们与马有关,听起来有点奇怪。

But you'll get the idea in just a second.

但你马上就会明白。

Basically don't question good luck.

它的意思是不要质疑好运。

请大家注意我不是单纯的要谚语的翻译,而是要翻译英文谚语这方面的各种特点论述,请大家帮忙,好的答案追加分都可以,请大家帮忙我的论文.谢谢我不知道大家是不是误会了我的意思我的论文题目是:浅谈英语谚语的翻译,是就翻译这门技术而言的。

不要挑剔别人给你呃礼物或帮助你的事情。

As an example perhaps you are desperate to get to the airport but don't know how.

举个例子,也许你非常想去机场,但是不知道怎么去。

You need a lift or you need to get the coach or the train and someone offers to give you a lift.

你需要搭车,或者你需要乘长途汽车或火车,有人主动提出让你搭便车。

&39;m going to London on that day. Why don&34; &39;m not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Thank you." My teacher gave me the option of having an extension on my essay.

“嘿,我那天要去伦敦。要不我送你去机场吧?”“哇,好吧,我可不想把好心当成驴肝肺。谢谢你。”我的老师允许我延长交论文的时间。

Well,I wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth,was I?

我不会好心当成驴肝肺的。

Number four, another horsey proverb, perhaps one that you've heard before.

第四,另一个有趣的谚语,也许你以前听过。

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

师傅领进门,修行靠个人。

Now often we would just shorten this down because we know it so well and say well you can lead a horse to water.

我们经常会把它缩短使用,因为我们很熟悉这个表达,可以说成 lead a horse to water。

But when we use this whether in the short form or the longer form,&39;t make it drink&39;re essentially saying you can guide someone, you can give them all the support and advice that they could possibly need but it doesn't mean they are going to take it or accept it or make the right decisions.

但是当我们使用这个词时,无论是短句还是长句,“师傅领进门,修行靠个人”,你基本上是在说你可以指导某人,你可以给他们可能需要的所有支持和建议,但这并不意味着他们会接受它或做出正确的决定。

You can give them a chance but it is their choice to take it.

你可以给他们一个机会,但这是他们自己的选择。

老实说,我已经尽我所能帮助我的学生通过考试,但仍然有一些人不来上课。

You can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

师傅领进门,修行靠个人。

Number five is a great proverb and I think it's actually one of my favorite because my grandmother uses it so much.

第五条是一个伟大的谚语,我认为它是我最喜欢的一条,因为我的祖母经常使用它。

And it's such a good piece of advice.

这是个很好的建议。

We'll cross that bridge when we come to it or you can cross that bridge when you come to it.

船到桥头自然直。

Basically don&39;s actually there until there really is a problem to worry about.

不要烦恼和担心一个问题,直到它真的存在,直到真的有一个问题需要担心。

到那时,你会找到一个解决方案,船到桥头自然直。

So as an example,I&39;m not going to pass my exams and I won't get into university.

举个例子,我真的很担心自己考不上,考不上大学。

What am I going to do?

我该怎么办?

Really? Why don't we just cross that bridge when we come to it?

真的吗?船到桥头自然直。

If you don&39;ll find a solution.

如果你考试不及格,我们会找到解决办法的。

There might be another way around, another university to go to,or perhaps you can have a retake on the exam.

38、The Transfer of Culture Image and of English and Chinese Idioms in Translating 论英汉习语翻译中的文化意象的转化 VI 旅游英语方向的选题 39、科技汉英翻译中的.修辞现象述评 ( An Overview of Rhetoric in Scientif。

也许有另一条路,另一所大学可以去,或者你可以重考。

But &39;ll cross that bridge when we come to it&34;Wait,there isn&39;s see what happens until we need to actually find a solution for that problem that doesn&34; Number six: the straw that broke the camel&39;s back or we could even shorten this down to it was the last straw.

但是“船到桥头自然直”是在说:“等等,还没有问题出现,让我们看看会发生什么,船到桥头自然直。”第六:压垮骆驼的最后一根稻草。

In this case,we're saying there is a limit to what I can handle, what I can tolerate, what I can manage, you may be dealing with screaming children all day or difficult colleagues at work.

在这种情况下,我们说的是我能处理的事情是有限度的,我能容忍的事情是有限度的,我能管理的事情是有限度的,你可能整天都在和尖叫的孩子打交道,或者在工作中遇到难缠的同事。

Perhaps you are trying your best to find solutions for everybody but still,it keeps coming, the problem keeps mounting, and eventually, you snap, you have enough you go crazy, you lose your temper or you simply want to walk away.

也许你正在尽最大努力为每个人寻找解决方案,但它还是不断出现,问题不断增加,最终你崩溃了,你受够了,你疯了,你发脾气了,你只想走开。

It is the straw that broke the camel's back.

压垮骆驼的最后一根稻草。

We have a limit.

我们有一个极限。

For example, you might be working really hard in the office, trying to get a presentation ready and someone keeps letting you down, eventually, they call up again and say they&39;s it.

例如,你可能在办公室非常努力地工作,试图准备一份演示文稿,但有人总是让你失望,最终他们再次打电话说他们迟到了,仅此而已。

It&39;s back.

压垮骆驼的最后一根稻草。

You've had it up to here.

你已经受够了。

Another expression for you.

这是另一种表达方法。

And you might tell them,&39;re being unreliable. You&34;,meaning this is as much as I can tolerate.

你可能会告诉他们:“听着,你不可靠。你帮不上忙。来吧,这是最后一根稻草”,意思是这是我所能容忍的。

This can be used in so many different situations in life and often is used by people to tell others that they&39;t cope with any more that they won't manage to deal with any more of these problems or this behavior.

这可以在生活中的许多不同情况下使用,并且经常被人们用来告诉其他人,他们本质上已经无法再处理这些问题或这种行为了。

That's the last straw.

那是最后一根稻草。

The children were screaming and shouting all day and then they decided to spill all the food over the table.

孩子们一整天都在尖叫和叫喊,然后他们把所有的食物洒在桌子上。

It was the straw that broke the camel's back.

压垮骆驼的最后一根稻草。

I just had to shout and scream at them. I didn't know what else to do.

我只能对他们大喊大叫。我不知道还能做什么。

When you want to be determined or you want to encourage someone else to be determined, you could say &39;s a will there&34; Where there&39;s a way.

当你想下定决心或想鼓励别人下定决心时,你可以说“有志者事竟成。”有志者事竟成。

一个中国谚语,只有在词典中找不到对应的英语谚语时,我们才考虑自己翻译,不过这种情况好象并不多见。比如“周瑜打黄盖,一个愿打,一个愿挨”这个谚语,我就一直没有找到对应的英语谚语,因此我把它翻译为:One is willi。

Now,in this case,we&39;re actually referring to our own will — our ability our strength that we have to keep going to do something.

在这种情况下,will 不是情态动词,但我们实际上指的是我们自己的意志——我们的能力,我们的力量,我们必须继续做某事。

That is what we're referring to when we talk about our will.

当我们谈论 will 时,这就是我们所指的。

It's actually a noun in this context.

在这个语境中,它实际上是一个名词。

It's your strength, your determination to do something.

这是你的能力,你做某事的决心。

You can refer to someone as being strong-willed when they're very stubborn maybe or determined.

当一个人非常固执或者有决心的时候,你可以说他意志坚强。

So &39;s a will,there&34;,it means basically if you're determined if you want to do something you can and you can achieve it.

“有志者事竟成”,基本上就是说,如果你下定决心,如果你想做一些你能做到的事情,你就能实现它。

How can we convince her, this is the best option for the business.

我们怎样才能说服她,这是生意的最佳选择。

I&39;s going to listen.

我真的不确定她会不会听。

Come on,where there&39;s a way.

拜托,有志者事竟成。

I'm sure we can convince her.

我相信我们能说服她。

Number eight,better late than never.

第八,迟到总比不到好。

Better late than never.

迟到总比不到好。

This is actually quite optimistic I suppose.

我认为这实际上是相当乐观的。

It's trying to see things in a more positive light.

它试图从更积极的角度看待事物。

So even if something has happened, transpired later than you would have liked, then it's good.

即使有些事情发生了,比你希望的要晚,那也是好事。

It&39;s still there. It still happened.

事情还是发生了。

As an example,it might be that you think someone&34;Oh,well,better late than never.&39;re saying you know you&39;ve remembered, happy birthday.

举个例子,你可能认为有人忘记了你的生日,但他们在最后一刻,11:30给你发了一条短信,你说:“哦,好吧,迟到总比不到好。”你告诉我了,至少你还记得,生日快乐。

Now,this isn&39;re handing in essays,past the deadline,better late than never,not necessarily true.

如果你在交论文的时候超过截止日期,迟交总比不交好,这显然不总是这样,不一定是真的。

Because you could be losing marks but your teacher still might say &34; You&39;t fail the essay as an example.

你可能会失去分数,但你的老师仍然可能会说“迟到总比不到好。”你会失去一些分数,但你不会不及格。

Number nine: beggars can't be choosers.

第九:乞丐不能挑三拣四。

Beggars can't be choosers.

乞丐不能挑三拣四。

Now a beggar is usually when we refer to somebody on the street asking for money, who are homeless, not particularly nice.

乞丐通常是指在街上乞讨的人,他们无家可归,不是特别好。

In this case,we&39;re referring to when you're kind of desperate for something.

在这种情况下,我们实际上不是指无家可归的人,我们指的是当你有点绝望的时候。

As an example,I might want to go on holiday because I haven't been on holiday for such a long time.

举个例子,我可能想去度假,因为我已经很久没有度假了。

And all my husband books is a staycation down the road in an old hotel.

我丈夫预订的是在路边一家老旅馆里的居家度假。

I might say,&39;t be choosers I need to go on holiday I need a break and it&34; Or perhaps you need to borrow money from your mom and dad and you ask them for 100 euros and they can only give you 50. Well, again beggars can't be choosers.

我可能会说,“好吧,乞丐不能挑三拣四,我需要去度假,我需要休息,总比什么都没有好。”或者你需要向你的父母借钱,你向他们要100欧元,他们只能给你50欧元。乞丐也不能挑三拣四。

Better than nothing. You need the money to go on holiday or pay for some clothes.

总比没有好。你需要钱去度假或买衣服。

Beggars can't be choosers. You can take what you can get.

乞丐不能挑三拣四。你可以得到你能得到的。

And number ten, actions speak louder than words.

第十,行动胜于雄辩。

Actions speak louder than words, meaning it&39;m sorry or I love you but unless you actually act in a way to show this or change your behavior if you have done something wrong.

行动胜于语言,意思是说:我很抱歉或者我爱你,说这些很好,但是除非你真的用某种方式表现出来,或者如果你做错了什么就改变你的行为。

行动胜于雄辩,只是说这些话,但继续同样的行为真的没有太大的区别。

So as an example I&39;m going to do the washing up every day from now on.

所以举个例子,我真的很抱歉,我保证从现在开始我会每天洗碗。

Well, actions speak louder than words. I'd like to see you actually do it first.

嗯,行动胜于雄辩。我想看到你先动手。

So there we have it,10 proverbs that I hope you'll be able to use daily in English.

我们学习了10条谚语,我希望你能在日常英语中使用。

Now I&39;t mention that you do know.

现在我确信这些你可能已经知道了,或者有一些我没有提到的。

So comment below and share those proverbs.

在下面评论并分享这些谚语。

And indeed why not share one or two from your language.

为什么不分享一两种你的语言中的谚语呢?

Perhaps you have something similar to express similar things that I've discussed in this lesson.

也许你有类似的表达来表达我在这节课中讨论过的类似的事情。

Proverbs are a great way to understand a language and culture.

谚语是了解一种语言和文化的好方法。

摘 要 本文从谚语文化角度着手,分析谚语中的文化因素,以及英汉谚语中的文化差异,尝试研究在谚语的英汉翻译过程中发生文化缺失时如何弥合。最终通过意译手段实现英语谚语的可译性,从而顺利完成跨文化交际活动,实现国际间的文化。

And I highly recommend you take more time to learn even more proverbs in English to boost your language fluency.

我强烈建议你花更多的时间学习更多的英语谚语,以提高你的语言流利度。

Thank you so much for watching.

非常感谢大家观看。

I hope to see you very soon with lots of lessons from love English and remember nothing ventured nothing gained.

我希望很快能看到你从爱英语中学到很多东西,记住:不入虎穴,焉得虎子。
